Interior Minister Meets Saudi King

MECCA Interior Minister Hojjatoleslam Abdullah Nouri met with King Fahd ibn Abd al-Aziz as-Sa'ud of Saudi Arabia in Jeddah Saturday evening. Tehran-Riyadh ties and issues of mutual interest including key regional developments covered Nouri's talks with King Fahd. The Iranian interior minister also met with Saudi Crown Prince Amir Abdullah on Wednesday discusing issues of mutual interests with him. He also conferred with his Saudi counterpart Prince Nayef ibn Abd al-Aziz as-Sa'ud on Wednesday. During the meeting the two sides reviewed ways of expanding Tehran-Riyadh relations.

Nouri arrived here last Wednesday to pay a formal visit to Saudi Arabia and to perform Hajj rituals. In an interview with IRNA, Nouri termed his meeting with Saudi officials as positive and said that they are interested in promoting ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran. (IRNA)
